Description
Maria does not want to appear strange or defenseless because of her blindness. And she does not want to be fantastic, or a form of inspiration. Maria simply wants to be Maria.
This is the story of Maria Romero, an eleven-year-old blind girl who tries in every way not to attract attention.
Quite a difficult task, if your eyes are made of glass and you wield a white cane.
Lately, it has become even harder for Maria to go unnoticed because JJ Munson, an asthmatic and overweight boy who speaks like a medieval knight, has started to follow her like a shadow; he has set his mind on opening a private investigation agency, and she must be his partner.
To convince her, he involves her in a series of challenges with embarrassing twists, which will see them dealing with disobedient rubber chickens, happenings at the top of the flagpole, and a kind of turnip with an unpronounceable name.
But when JJ’s autistic sister mysteriously disappears, the investigative skills and friendship of the two kids will be truly put to the test…
